There is local currency, there is foreign currency. There is another currency which is as important as both but people don't really take serious, Social Currency. Your social currency is your value among friends, school mates, peer groups, political allies, elders gathering, family etc. Our social currency is as valuable as our money. Our social network matters. I believe this is what the Yoruba people have in mind when they say "Ènìyàn Laṣọ́". Build bridges, don't burn it. Connect, don't disconnect. Hustle for social currency just like you hustle for monetary currency for no man can live by himself.
