OPay's Play4aChild was launched on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, with a donation through the Girls Inspired Development Network (GIDN). The partnership with GIDN ensured that 1,300 vulnerable children from three (3) low-income schools in three (3) underserved communities received back-to-school packs and learning aids.
This donation was piloted with Jibowu Junior High School in Jibowu-Yaba, Lagos, and students from Birrel Avenue High School and Herbert Macaulay Girls High School in Sabo-Yaba, Lagos, also benefited from this pilot phase. This initial phase of the initiative in Lagos State will also be beneficial to students from the underprivileged Makoko-Yaba neighborhood.
