What is Technology and E-commerce
Technology and E-commerce are gradually becoming stranger pillars upon with sustainable businesses are built for rapid growth and development. Daily News Report had an interview with one of the leading Tech and E-commerce Giants- E-Connect, who has, for the past four years contributing to, not only the Educational sector, but to business owners as well.
E-Connect shares its journey and rolls out new business offers as the Tech giant clocks four solid year. Find out in the interview below.
Background of E-connect
Quest: What bring about the name- E-Connect?
Guest: It's a vision to connect people (mostly students and youths) on a single digital platform where they can interact and share resources.
This is what brought about "E-Connect"
Quest: We are also hearing E-connect AAUA, tell us about it. Also, do you have other versions in other Varsities?
Guest: Yeah, we aim to have the E-Connect in other tertiary institutions of the nation, which we will be rolling out in a few months from now.
But for now, we're still within AAUA.
Quest: Since creation, if I'm right, you celebrated the anniversary last week, how would you rate E-connect? What are some of their missions achieved so far that you will like to share with our Audience?
Guest: Well, so far, so good, all I can say is, we bless God
Despite our mistakes and challenges in the past 4 years, we can still point to a few things we're able to do with the help of God and our audience
- We now have over 85% of the AAUA students on our platform
- We launched our mobile app a year ago, which presently has almost 10,000 users from AAUA
- We've been able to help some people promote their businesses and make more sales
- We've trained over a thousand people on various digital skills
And a couple of other things.
One of our core mission however is to have a platform where all students from various institutions can connect, promote business and get updated with everything going on around them...
We've started doing that with the E-Connect (AAUA) Mobile App, which will be introduced to other campuses in a few months time.
Quest: I was about saying that during our course of investigation, we got to know E-connect also has a Mobile App. Can you take our Audience through some of its unique features?

Quest: We have Students across many Varsities here, tell them why you feel they should embrace E-connect App.
We also get to realize E-connect works with some AAUA features like AVERS. Share more light for the benefit of those who aren't aware.
AAUA AVERS is a result checking portal developed by AAUA ICTAC, it be accessed via: avers.aaua.edu.ng.
Guest: Given our track record, we've always been on point when it comes to providing students with legitimate information, and helping individuals start, manage and grow their business.
The E-Connect App encompasses majority of the services we render to students and business owners.
With the app, majority of what they go to do in faculties, departments, and cafes can be easily achieved from the comfort of their home, so we believe the app would greatly reduce stress for the average student, and also increase sales for business owners.
These however, is enough reason to embrace the E-Connect App
With the mobile app, students can check their result, person their registration, pay school fee, check their teaching practice location etc...
By having the app, you don't need to remember the website for checking result, or website for course reg or school fee.
A simple click within the app will take you inside of your result portal and course registration page.
Quest: Since the creation of E-connect, what would you consider as challenges so far?
Guest: Lol, there are a lot, but presently I can't seem to remember.
But some of them are:
- defamation of character (having people do and say things to spoil our reputation
- sometimes, we face the issue of access to funds to run our services, but we've always gotten solution one way or another
- and a couple of others which I can't remember at the moment.
Quest: Do you identity where the defamation is coming from and why such happens?
Guest: Well, not everyone will like you, that's enough reason for defamation
With a few legal actions on some, we've been able to reduce reoccurrence of such
Quest: As we rap up this segment, is the E-connect App running currently for students?
If yes, feel free to share the link/Name to this group for intending Students to access
Guest: Yes, presently for students (of AAUA). Coming soon to other institutions
But the business feature is available for everyone. The App is available on Google and Apple play store "E-Connect AAUA"
Quest: Commerce, or should I say E-commerce, Which is another branch in your Organization. You already send in details of the features.
Now, tell us those who are eligible to make use of the E-commerce
Guest: It is available for every business owners (either student or not) or people planning to start a business soon
Quest: Talking about protection, Data protection and privacy protection are one of the features ussers expect to get from using any application. How secured is ussers' data?
Guest: The only data we require from people are basic details like name, email address, phone number, and this is to help create account for them on our app or website, as they won't be able to have access to some of the benefits of our app without providing these details.
And talking of security, all data is secure and we follow all legal protocols of keeping electronic data.
Quest: Are there any other offers to watch out for from the App? Aside the E-commerce and AAUA features

In the nearest future however, we have new and amazing offers coming, and we'll update people on this through our status and the mobile app, as time goes on.
Quest: Talking about all these ur new roll out Offers, most of the Students are home due to the ASUU Strike, some of them have nothing doing. What is your advice to them?
Guest: While hoping that the strike ends soon, I'd encourage students to make use of this period to be more productive.
To improve themselves and expand their thoughts by engaging in activities that develops them, like reading books on areas that interest them, learning new things, skills (both digital and non-digital), build valuable relationships with people.
E-Connect was given birth to during an academic break. And I believe students can also come up with new innovations to launch to the world during this break!
Quest: As we prepare to rap-up the program, what do we expect from E-connect in coming days and months?
Also, Do you have any message to all our Audience tonight? If yes, feel free to tell them as a rap-up.
Guest: Well, I've mentioned it before that we're making the E-Connect App available for other institutions within the next few months. But to be specific, they can expect this in February.
Also, we're working on a cloud software that allows businesses to reach more people and make more sales with WhatsApp and automates their business for them to earn, even while they sleep.
There will also be a great improvement in all our products and services to people.
