Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu has announced a 50% reduction on all Lagos State Public Transport System for the next one week through the Cowry Card system, this measure is to cushion the effect of the Fuel and Currency crisis.
Governor sanwo-olu also announced that the Buba Marwa concrete road construction in Ijegun Egba (about 60% completion) has been suspended, to ease movement of Petroleum Products to various filling stations, in conjunction with NNPC Limited & Independent Tank Farm Owners.
The State Government has agreed to give protection to Filling Stations that are willing to sell fuel to Lagosians on a 24-Hour basis, Mr Governor says this will make fuel more available to Lagosians.
Governor Sanwo-olu also announced the setting up of Food Banks across the State using different methods of distribution, to further cushion the effect of the current situation across the country.
On the currency issues, the Governor commends the Supreme Court and the Judiciary for the wise decision on the issue.
