Americans continue to mourn as losses in the heavy strike of Hurricane Lan continues in Florida, United States, five days after.
More than 150 people have been reported dead in the cause, after Hurricane Ian slammed into the west coast of Florida as a powerful Category 4 storm.
The death toll from Hurricane Ian, one of the most powerful (storms 4) ever to hit the United States, reached at least 85 Sunday, as rescue workers continued to search for people wanting to leave their devastated communities, particularly in the hardest-hit waterfront communities in southwestern Florida. Most homes and areas are covered by water amid the hurricane.

As part of the rescue mission, rescuers are going "house to house to make sure everyone is accounted for,” Deanne Criswell, administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, told CNN, during “State of the Union” show.
As the country count losses, Daily News Report confirmed that more than 700,000 customers are still without power supply in Florida, which took the worst of the devastation. Ian made landfall Wednesday on the state’s southwestern coast along the shore of the Gulf of Mexico.
Most of the deaths have been recorded in Lee County, which was not informed the storm’s path in the first forecasts for the storm’s trajectory.

Eventually, Ian blew northeastward across Florida to the Atlantic Ocean side of the state and then veered northward, gathered new strength over the warm ocean water and made U.S. landfall a second time in South Carolina, USA.
Mainwhile, the U.S. President, Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have visited the Island territory of Puerto Rico on Monday to assess the level of damages there from September’s Hurricane Fiona and then will visit Florida on Wednesday.
