Ayamma
Theresa Edem-Isemin is an actress, voice-over artist, writer, model and filmmaker. Born in Akwa Ibom State in the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria, Theresa started harbouring a passion for the performing arts from a very young age. This passion found expression in school dance troupes, drama clubs and in the church drama department. In 2012, Theresa decided to follow her passion and pursue acting professionally. This decision led to her quitting her office job to attend the Royal Arts Academy, where she studied acting, graduating top of her class.
Since starting to act professionally, Theresa’s career has developed in leaps and bounds. She played her first major role in the Royal Arts Academy production, After The Proposal. Following that, she featured in several stage plays, TV films and radio dramas, including, MTV’s Shuga Radio. Her big break came in 2014, when she was asked to play ‘Angela Dede’ on M-Net Tinsel.
Following her success on Tinsel, Theresa has gone on to portray several major characters in films and TV series, the most notable of these being, ‘Princess Ama’ in Ayamma, ‘Isioma’ on Hotel Majestic and ‘Rita’ in This Thing Called Marriage. In addition to that, she has starred in several Africa Magic Original Films (AMOFs) such as While We Worked Things Out and Bakers Daughter. She currently plays Enitan on Africa Magic’s prime time telenovela, Forbidden.
When Theresa is not working in front of the camera, she is honing her skills behind it. She has written several short stories and screenplays, some of which she has developed into short films. Her first short film, Grey Area was released in 2014. She has since produced another film, ENO and is working on a number of feature films to be released in the near future.
Theresa has also modelled for big brands. She starred in one of Jumia’s first TV adverts and was brand ambassador for Miss Fashion Week Africa. As brand ambassador for Miss Fashion Week Africa, she is able to pursue her passion for fashion, amongst other things, and help develop aspiring models in Africa.
PERSONAL LIFE
Theresa attended nursery, primary and secondary school in Akwa Ibom, before heading off to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) for her university education. She is happily married and is a devout Christian. She enjoys reading (a lot) and spending time with her family.

Greater success came to her career after the performance on Tinsel,[1] and has since gone on to star in several films and TV series, including Ayamma: Music in the Forest, My Village People, Forbidden and The Olive.
Theresa was born in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State into a family of four children, of which she is the fourth and only girl. She attended primary school and secondary school in Akwa Ibom before heading off to university at The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO). She graduated Bs. Tech. in Animal Science and Technology.
In December 2015, Theresa married her friend of many years, Ubong Isemin. The ceremony was held in Uyo.
Theresa started acting professionally in 2012, after completing the 'Acting Course’ at The Royal Arts Academy. Her first major role was in After The Proposal, starring alongside Uche Jombo, Anthony Monjaro, Patience Ozokwor, Desmond Elliot and Belinda Effah. Following that, she has starred in several films, TV series and stage plays, including The Antique, Tinsel and Twenty-Five.[6][7] She has also featured in number of Africa Magic Original Films.
Her cinema debut was in the 2016 epic, Ayamma. she was also in the movie my village people along side Bovi and Nkem Owoh.
