Breaking: AAUASU Election; Management didn't approve 16th June 2020 - DSA, Dr. Owolewa

AAUA Dean of Student Affairs - Dr. Owolewa

Hours after the communiqué issued by the AAUASU Aspirants as regard the Postponement of the election by the AAUA Dean of Student Affairs; showing their rejection on the postponement,  the School Management has responded.

The reply was made official on the Union's Official Facebook Group- (AAUASU OFFICIAL) by the AAUA Dean of Student Affairs- Chief (DR.) Owolewa. 

According to the Dean of Student Affairs, he said the Aspirants met with the SUEC and fixed 16th of June as against the 23rd of June fixed by the Management.

His comment reads "The University Management approved 23rd June, 2021 as the date of election. Aspirants met with SUEC and fixed 16th June for the Election."

He however questioned when it become the duty of Aspirants to fix the election date? 

Dr. Owolewa emphasized that "Management didn't approve 16th June, 2020" 

He also gave reason why the election was postponed. According to Dr. Owolewa, he said "The approved date of Elections which was 23rd  June, 2021 coincides with UTME at CBT centre."

Comment from the Dean

The Dean of Student Affairs further reinstated that the shift was necessary and that prompted the change of the AAUASU election date till after Exams.
