AAUA Political Aspirants; Defaulters Might Be Sanctioned Soon, Eagle View has learnt

Following the announcement made by Senate President,  Adekunle Ajasin University Students' Representative Council (SRC), Instructing all Political Aspirants to stop defacing the University premises with campaign posters and inscription; our investigative journalists moved out to see to the level of compliance.

Reports gathered showed that some of the Aspirants had adhered to this directive, while some are still turning deaf ears.

Our correspondents reported that campaign posters are still seen at the Intercontinental Hall, Awo Hall, 30CQ, SOMASSA LT A & B, ETF 750 and other places. We also see inscriptions on the roads leading to 30CQ and Awo Hall.

Our investigative journalist had an interview with the AAUASU-SRC Senate President as regard the next position of the house. According to Senator Amodu Abiola (Ejanla), he said "Another update will be released soon". This update, is believed to put more emphasis on the need for all Aspirants to stop defacing the university walls with campaign posters.

Recall in a letter dated 27th of April was released by the Senate President through the Clerk, it stated "I have the instructions of the Senate President, Rt. HON. AMODU ABIOLA to warn ASPIRANTS fond of defacing the university premises with campaign posters and inscription on the floor to desist from such forthwith."

The letter however stated that "..any aspirant whose poster(s) or inscription is either pasted on any structure/building of the University or written on the floor is given three days from the day this notification is published (27/04/2021) to remove or erase same."

The Senate President said violation of this would amount to outright disqualification of the candidates involved.

Reacting to the development, Comr. Don said the directive didn't affect him, "..it gave me time for one on one campaign."

Comr. Don, who is aspiring for SUG 005 said "Defacing the school walls with posters is not a well welcome means of campaigning." To him, he said he believed Aspirants can engage in one on one campaign instead of pasting posters and writing on the wall.

Those who are yet to erase/remove their campaign posters will be hearing form the SRC soon as said by Senate President Ejanla.
