The Kono District Excellence Awards and recognition programs, popular as KDEA in Kono District, Sierra Leone is set to celebrate merit and societal relevance through its yearly award and recognition platform.
The founder and CEO OF THE kdea, Sahr Eric Mbayo of the KDEA restated this in a conversation with our correspondent. In his words, the platform intends to partner with national and international media organisations to promote the quality of the indigenous Kono culture as well as celebrate excellence in various fields and individuals around the country. To this end nomination details for the 45 listed award categories would be communicated on Monday, 5th August, 2019 by 7pm on all organisation and media partner platforms.
According to the press release of the organisation, it aims to promote quality crafts that upholds rigorous standards of excellence in Education, Health Care, Business, Science and Medicine, Community Service, the Arts and many other sectors of the society.
Therefore, we are presenting to the people of Kono, the Kono diaspora and the general public.

The Kono District Excellence Awards and recognition programs aims to promote quality crafts that upholds rigorous standards of excellence in Education, Health Care, Business, Science and Medicine, Community Service, the Arts and many other fields.
Therefore, we are presenting to the people of Kono, those in the diaspora and the general public 45 outstanding categories we have unanimously agreed on for this year's KDEA2019 event.
