RESOLUTIONS OF THE LAW STUDENTS LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL AT HER SITTING HELD ON THE 28TH OF JUNE, 2017.
Pursuant to Section 13(5) of the Constitution of the Law Students' Society which states that "The LSRC shall have power to pass resolutions on any matter(s) affecting the law students' society in so far as such resolution does not conflict with this constitution." The house do hereby make the following resolutions:
1. Pursuant to section S.13(14) of the LSS constitution which provides that "Subject to the provision of this constitution the L.S.R.C shall have power to determine and regulate its own procedure." and S.13(5) which provides that; "The LSRC shall have power to pass resolutions on any matter(s) affecting the law students' society in so far as such resolution does not conflict with this constitution." The LSRC hereby resolves that Honourables Oyeniyi Oyewole, Oyeniran Timothy and Awodiran Rejoice should face the disciplinary committee of the house so the house can investigate their alleged misconduct as regards the suspension of the Financial Secretary.
2. Pursuant to S. 13(5) of the LSS constitution which provides that "The LSRC shall have power to pass resolutions on any matter(s) affecting the law students' society in so far as such resolution does not conflict with this constitution." The L.S.R.C hereby approves the proposal of the General Secretary to embark on a fundraising programme so as to complete the purchase of an electronic print board and media for the society. The LSRC also aprroves a sum of #10,000 as the General Secretary's start up capital for the proposed program.
3. Pursuant to S13(4) of the LSS constitution which provides that; "The L.S.R.C shall have power to summon the whole or any member(s) of the Executive or committee to appear before it in connection with specific matter(s), provided not less than seventy-two hours' notice shall be given to the officer(s)." the house hereby resolves to summon the President on issues surrounding the loan that was given out, the Treasurer on issues bordering on the nonchalant attitude towards the submission of the details of the financial report to the Audit Committee, the Financial Secretary is also instructed to come along as her suspension will be over by then.
Also, the Leadership of the Orientation Committee has been summoned over the submission of a financial report lacking in proper detail to the floor of the house on its next sitting.
