THE LAW IN ITSELF:NOT A REFLECTION
"The prophesies of what the court will do in fact and nothing more pretentious are what I mean by the law" -Oliver Wendell Holmes jnr.
From time immemorial, the existence of this hallowed chambers cannot but be stressed. For it is a place of solace, place of comfort and peace. Severed from emotions,it is very objective in its dealings;calling a spade a spade. It could be harsh and also tender. It could pierce and also soothe. It punishes the evildoer and justifies the wronged. It is disjoined from the world of politics and thus the confidence reposed in it. It is unbiased and very empirical in its judgements. Worshippers in this temple are dignified and exalted; ready to go any length to rid the society of evil. Uneasily influenced and rigid in position, its final words are authorized and backed up and could only be overturned by a superior.
It is where the law is. The court is the law.
